Hansol Paper announced on the 26th that its "Wet Tissue Saving the Whale" has been selected as the "2024 Korea Green Product of the Year" for the second consecutive year.
Now in its 15th year, the "Korea Green Product of the Year" award was established in 2008 to encourage the production and consumption of green products. It is organized by the Korea Green Purchasing Network and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment.
This year, 19 consumer and environmental organizations nationwide and over 300 consumers participated in the evaluation, selecting 66 products across various categories such as home appliances, cosmetics, and food.
Hansol Paper's "Wet Tissue Saving the Whale" is characterized by using a natural pulp-based fabric instead of the conventional plastic material fabric, preventing the generation of microplastics.
Additionally, it has passed the international flushability standards (INDA/EDANA), allowing it to be conveniently disposed of in the toilet after use, and it is biodegradable, minimizing marine pollution.
This year, the product received high praise from the consumer evaluation panel for achievements such as reducing plastic usage by changing the wet tissue cap from conventional plastic material to recycled plastic material (PCR, Post Consumer Recycled).
Meanwhile, to commemorate winning the Green Product of the Year award for two consecutive years, Hansol Paper is holding a discount event on the Naver Smart Store for "Wet Tissue Saving the Whale" until the 31st.
A Hansol Paper official stated, "We consider it very meaningful that the product competitiveness of 'Wet Tissue Saving the Whale' and the company's efforts to reduce environmental impact have been recognized by consumers," adding, "We will continue to prioritize eco-friendliness as our most important value and strive to develop competitive products for consumers."
