'New Renault Grand Koleos' Featuring POSCO Technology... Joint Promotion by Both Companies

To commemorate the launch of Renault Korea's new mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV), the 'New Renault Grand Koleos,' POSCO and Renault Korea conducted a joint promotion.

Song Dae-ho, Head of POSCO Automotive Steel Sales Group, Hwang Jae-seop, Executive Vice President of Sales and Network at Renault Korea, Hong Young-jin, Head of Purchasing Division at Renault Korea, and Seo Yoo-ran, Head of Automotive Materials Marketing Office at POSCO, are taking a commemorative photo on the 25th at the main gate Square Garden of POSCO Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, during the joint promotion event for the 'New Renault Grand Koleos'.

On the 25th, the two companies displayed the New Renault Grand Koleos at the POSCO Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, offering test drive opportunities and promotional materials to POSCO Group employees and nearby office workers as part of their joint marketing activities.

The New Renault Grand Koleos is a new model introduced by Renault Korea, which relaunched as a new brand in April under the slogan "Born in France, Made in Korea," marking its first new car in four years. It extensively incorporates automotive steel plates and stainless steel produced by POSCO.

The body and chassis apply a range of cold-rolled galvanized products, including gigasteel with a tensile strength of over 980MPa and advanced high-strength steel (AHSS), achieving both vehicle weight reduction and body collision safety. The exhaust system uses stainless steel AL439 coated with aluminum to enhance corrosion resistance.

On the 25th, at the Square Garden in front of the POSCO Center main gate in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Seo Yuran, Head of POSCO Automotive Materials Marketing Office, and Hwang Jaeseop, Executive Vice President of Sales and Network at Renault Korea, are seated in the New Renault Grand Koleos during the joint promotion event celebrating its launch.

The cradle parts supporting the body of the New Renault Grand Koleos feature 'PosZET' technology, developed through collaboration among POSCO, Renault Korea, and parts manufacturers from the early development stage using POSCO's utilization technology solutions. PosZET is a welding technology for automotive ultra-high-strength galvanized steel sheets that prevents welding pore defects and reduces slag. This technology enhances vehicle safety by ensuring that joints can withstand repeated impacts and temperature changes without cracking easily, and it also achieves vehicle weight reduction by improving welding performance, allowing for thinner steel sheets.
