At the Central-Local Cooperation Meeting, Proposal for Establishing the National Dental Research Institute in Cheonan
Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam, once again urged President Yoon Sukyeol to grant "priority selection rights (draft system)" for public institutions.
On the 25th, at the 7th Central-Local Cooperation Meeting held in the provincial government’s main conference room, Governor Kim requested President Yoon to proceed with the second phase of relocating public institutions from the Seoul metropolitan area, to establish the National Dental Research Institute in Cheonan, to promptly approve the original plan for the feasibility study of Asan Police Hospital, and to provide swift recovery support during disasters.
He especially emphasized the need to grant priority selection rights to Chungnam during the second phase of public institution relocation from the metropolitan area.
Chungnam, which was excluded from being designated as an innovation city due to the construction of Sejong City, was only designated as an innovation city in 2020, but the relocation of public institutions has still not taken place.
Governor Kim has continuously proposed the implementation of priority selection rights to President Yoon and, at this meeting, again called for the prompt execution of the public institution relocation plan and the granting of priority selection rights.
Regarding the establishment of the National Dental Research Institute, he stressed, "Since it is a presidential pledge, please proceed immediately with the establishment in Cheonan without a public contest, as promised."
Regarding the recent heavy rain damage, he said, "Heavy rain damage has occurred for three consecutive years, but since recovery is not completed quickly, repeated damage is a major issue," and emphasized, "Please provide swift and substantial support so that recovery can be completed within the same year."
