Busan Regional Headquarters of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Holds Shipbuilding Safety Culture Relay Campaign

The Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director Gong Heungdu) has launched a relay campaign to prevent industrial accidents in the shipbuilding industry.

This campaign, organized in celebration of Industrial Safety and Health Month to raise safety and health awareness among all citizens and promote a culture of safety, took place on the 25th in the Gamcheon Port area of Busan.

During the event, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and the Korea Ship Repair Industry Cooperative introduced initiatives to foster a safety culture at shipbuilding sites and promote the regional specialization of Busan’s ship repair industry cluster.

The campaign was conducted by dividing participants into two teams, holding street marches and chanting safety messages by area, visiting shipbuilding sites to distribute safety and health OPS and safety stickers, and carrying out a campaign to attach hazard warning signs.

The slogan for July was, "Industrial Safety and Health Month: When a heatwave advisory is issued, take a break and drink water in the shade."

Director Gong Heungdu emphasized the necessity of preventing industrial accidents in Busan’s specialized shipbuilding industry, stating, "We will devote all our efforts to reducing fatal accidents in the shipbuilding sector."
