Yang Young-seok, Chief of Jeju Fire Station, Visits Jeju Technopark... Fire Prevention Inspection

Yang Young-seok, Chief of Jeju Fire Station, visited Jeju Technopark, a battery reuse company, on the 24th to conduct on-site guidance for fire prevention.


According to Jeju Fire Station on the 25th, this on-site guidance was arranged to inspect fire risk factors during the handling process of used batteries in order to prevent similar accidents, following the recent fire accident at a Hwaseong battery manufacturing plant.

The main contents of the on-site guidance include ▲inspection of management status such as storage warehouses for used batteries ▲confirmation and guidance of evacuation routes by handling locations ▲sharing similar fire cases, conducting life evacuation training in case of fire, and alerting related personnel.


Jeju Fire Station conducted a full survey of 12 battery-related facilities under its jurisdiction, checked the fire prevention status and compliance with safety management at each facility, and removed fire vulnerability factors in advance.


Yang Young-seok, Chief of Jeju Fire Station, said, “I extend my deepest condolences to those who lost their precious lives due to the recent fire at the Hwaseong battery plant. Based on the lessons learned from this accident, we plan to further strengthen fire prevention measures at battery handling facilities within the jurisdiction.”
