Eased Standards for Construction Worker Electronic Card Worksites Selected as Key Task by Ministry of the Interior and Safety

Hapcheon County in Gyeongnam Province announced on the 25th that its proposal was selected as a key task by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, as a result of actively participating in the ministry-led initiative to identify and resolve unreasonable regulations faced by local construction companies.

The 'Regulation Relief for Local Construction Companies' is a core regulatory innovation project promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety this year to support local construction companies struggling due to the economic downturn. Central government agencies and local governments nationwide submitted a total of 190 tasks.

Among them, the ministry selected 20 key tasks with significant regulatory improvement effects. Some have already been improved, and the remaining tasks are continuously being addressed. The proposal submitted by the county, 'Easing the Criteria for Construction Worker Electronic Card Certification Sites,' was included in these tasks.

The proposal is to ease the mandatory installation criteria for electronic card terminals for reporting construction worker retirement mutual aid contributions from sites with a contract value of 300 million KRW or more to those with 500 million KRW or more.

If this proposal is adopted, small local construction companies will be able to reduce the burden of terminal installation costs. In addition, it is expected to resolve the inconvenience for construction workers who had to spend significant time and money commuting between the terminal installation location and the actual work site.
