Park Junghyun, the governor of Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province, canceled his planned visit to Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, to focus on flood recovery efforts.

According to the county on the 25th, Governor Park was scheduled to visit Dazaifu City for three days and two nights from the 24th to the 26th.

However, due to heavy rainfall that began on the 8th, damages amounted to 25.8 billion won as of the 23rd, leading him to cancel the trip to Japan in order to focus on recovery efforts.

Governor Park is currently directing swift recovery operations at the flood-damaged sites, focusing on identifying and addressing institutional issues and problems that need improvement at the recovery sites.

In particular, over the 15 days since the 8th, he has been sharing the pain of flood victims and encouraging the volunteers who have gathered from all over the country.

Governor Park stated, "While international exchange is important, the most crucial task right now is to devote all efforts to flood recovery so that residents can return to their daily lives as quickly as possible."

Meanwhile, the friendship exchange between Buyeo County and Dazaifu City has continued for over 40 years since 1978, establishing a cooperative framework between the two local governments centered on the history and culture of Baekje.
