Gochang-gun Public Health Center in Jeonbuk is taking steps to protect the bone health of its residents by introducing the latest digital bone density scanner.
According to the Gochang-gun Public Health Center on the 25th, the latest digital radiographic bone density scanner has been introduced for the first time in a public health center in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and it will be fully operational starting next month.
The newly introduced equipment is based on high-performance, high-precision, and highly reliable testing technology, which shortens the patient's examination time and minimizes radiation exposure.
In particular, it is known as a state-of-the-art device that has no examination restrictions based on body type and enables precise diagnosis for osteoporosis prevention.
Residents can undergo the examination after a consultation at the health center by presenting their ID.
The examination targets individuals aged 19 and older with suspected bone-related diseases. The examination fee is 8,000 KRW according to the Gochang-gun Public Health Center medical fee ordinance, and residents aged 65 and older in Gochang-gun can receive the examination free of charge.
For residents who require medication after the examination, the center plans to guide them to hospitals where prescriptions can be provided to offer practical assistance.
Yoo Byung-su, director of the Gochang-gun Public Health Center, said, “Accessibility to bone density testing for residents will improve, and early testing is expected to greatly help in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.”
