Focus HNS, a company specializing in AI-based physical security and control solutions, announced on the 25th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Samsung Heavy Industries to establish a safe work environment.
The signing ceremony held in Geoje was attended by key representatives from both sides, including Lee Wang-geun, Head of Samsung Heavy Industries Shipyard, and Kim Dae-jung, CEO of Focus HNS.
Focus HNS will collaborate with Samsung Heavy Industries to manage and monitor various risks that may occur during the ship manufacturing process, based on its proprietary AI technology applied in a smart safety management system.
The worksite operates various heavy equipment such as aerial work platforms, forklifts, gondolas, and big doors. It is essential to apply various control and safety solutions related to driver qualification certification, hazard detection, and monitoring.
Focus HNS applies AI technology to control systems and safety solution management, actively supporting safer work environments by securing worker safety and enabling rapid response through real-time monitoring, thereby preventing safety accidents and allowing smarter and more efficient production site operations with fewer personnel.
By pilot-applying AI technology-equipped cameras, detection systems, and sensors in various production sites, Focus HNS will cooperate with Samsung Heavy Industries to make the Geoje shipyard a zero-accident workplace.
CEO Kim Dae-jung stated, "We will proactively prevent major accidents by applying excellent AI technology throughout the production sites," and added, "We hope that the spread of a safety-centered culture will also contribute to improving productivity in the shipbuilding industry."
