Nowon-gu Temporarily Opens Indoor Playground in Jungpyeong Children's Park

Nowon-gu, Seoul, has newly established the district's first Seoul-style Kids Cafe simultaneously with the Jungpyeong Children's Park renovation project. This is to provide a safe space where children can play without being affected by external environmental conditions.

The Seoul-style Kids Cafe at Jungpyeong Park is designed with various play facilities such as physical play areas, play care services, and a book resting area, allowing infants, children, and guardians to use it together. Fixed play equipment includes a net tower, hill climbing, stepping stones, ball pool, and slide, while movable play items include pretend play, camping play, and daily life themes.

During the temporary opening on the 23rd from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM for the first session, a daycare center was invited to celebrate the opening, providing children with a special opportunity to experience the Kids Cafe.

The pilot operation runs until August 31, and usage is free during this period. Reservations can be made through the Our Neighborhood Care Portal website. The facility is closed on Mondays. On weekdays, it operates three sessions from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and on weekends, four sessions from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

The official operation is scheduled to begin on September 1, with a usage fee of 2,000 KRW per child and 1,000 KRW per guardian.

Oh Seung-rok, the district mayor, said, “I hope children can run and play freely in the newly established indoor playground without being affected by external conditions,” adding, “We will continue to create safe and comfortable spaces where children can play.”
