Helping Teachers and Parents Better Understand College Admissions
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo) will hold a "2025 University Admission Information Session for Multicultural and North Korean Defector High School Students" at 6:30 PM on the 25th at the Multicultural Education Support Center of the Office of Education, targeting about 30 participants including high school students, teachers, and parents.
This information session has been organized to support university admissions for multicultural and North Korean defector high school students as well as out-of-school youth, and to enhance the understanding of university admission processes among teachers and parents.
The Office of Education will utilize the "2025 University Admission Information Session Guidebook for Multicultural and North Korean Defector High School Students," published in five languages including Vietnamese and Chinese, and the "Special Admission Guidelines for North Korean Defectors" to conduct the session.
At the session, an instructor from the Busan Academic Development Institute's Admission Support Team will provide guidance on university admissions for multicultural and North Korean defector students, conduct Q&A sessions, and offer on-site individual counseling for students who wish to receive it. Additionally, students who want further counseling after the session will also be supported.
The Office of Education expects that this information session will greatly help multicultural students and their parents overcome difficulties such as lack of information when applying to universities.
Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "The Office of Education will continue to provide support for multicultural and North Korean defector students to ensure that not a single student is left behind."
