[Special Stock] Macrogen Partners with Samsung Electronics to Provide Customized Health Solutions to 64 Million People Worldwide

Macrogen is showing strong performance. The news that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Samsung Electronics for research and development and commercialization of genome data-based healthcare services appears to be influencing its stock price.

As of 9:25 a.m. on the 24th, Macrogen is trading at 23,550 KRW, up 24.21% from the previous day.

Macrogen explained that its gene and microbiome testing-based health management platform, ‘GenTok,’ will be integrated into Samsung Health. By linking daily life log data with gene test analysis data, it plans to provide Galaxy users with a comprehensive personalized health solution.

According to the MOU, the two companies will promote strategic collaboration for research and development and commercialization in the field of genome data-based healthcare services. By combining Samsung Electronics’ flagship mobile product Galaxy with Macrogen’s technology and expertise as a genome analysis company with 27 years of gene analysis experience, they plan to support Galaxy users in monitoring their health status in daily life and maintaining continuous health management.

GenTok is a digital healthcare platform that provides health management solutions based on gene testing and microbiome (gut microorganism) testing. Known as the ‘Body BTI (Body + MBTI),’ it offers analysis results for up to 129 test items, including obesity, hair loss, nutrients, eating habits, exercise, sleep patterns, and skin characteristics, making it popular among the MZ generation. Recently, it enhanced its health management functions by incorporating the AI chatbot ‘GenTok AI,’ which offers personalized counseling services based on individual gene results.

Samsung Health, used by 64 million people worldwide every month, is a global health solution that monitors health indicators such as sleep, exercise, and diet to help users accurately understand and consistently manage their health status.
