Happy Alliance-LIG Nex1 Provides Lunchboxes to Food-Insecure Children in Gumi

Support of Over 1,250 Lunchboxes Worth 10 Million Won

Social contribution network Happy Alliance and LIG Nex1, which has a production plant in Gumi City, announced on the 24th that they will provide more than 1,250 lunchboxes to 125 children at risk of food insecurity in Gumi City.

This project was prepared to help children who have difficulty securing meals due to the suspension of school meals during the summer vacation.

LIG Nex1 donated 10 million won, and LIG Nex1’s subsidiary, Boulangerie Gil, provides freshly made bread.

Good Neighbors Gyeongbuk Western Branch manages the donation funds, and the Gyeongbuk Support Group for Local Children’s Centers selects the children eligible for support.

The local social enterprise Matsarang is responsible for manufacturing and delivering lunchboxes considering the essential nutrients for growing children, and Happy Alliance oversees the overall operation of the project.

Jomin Young, head of Happy Alliance (Secretariat Happy Narae), said, "This project is meaningful not only in supporting meals for vulnerable groups but also in helping various sectors of our society, such as social enterprises and companies for the disabled, to coexist. We will continue to pay attention to places in need and establish a sustainable support system."
