'Toktok' Ideas Reflected in City Policies... Yeongcheon City Hosts 'Public Data Utilization Contest'

51 Teams Participate in Idea Proposal, 12 Teams Awarded... Total Prize Money 13 Million Won

Yeongcheon City, North Gyeongsang Province held the awards ceremony for the 3rd Yeongcheon City Public Data Utilization Competition on the 22nd, in collaboration with Pohang TP and the Big Data Innovation Convergence University.

'Toktok' Ideas Reflected in City Policies... Yeongcheon City Hosts 'Public Data Utilization Contest' Yeongcheon City Public Data Utilization Competition Awards Ceremony.

Now in its third year, the competition was organized to discover various ideas utilizing public data and to propose data utilization analysis and visualization methods.


A total of 51 teams participated in this year's competition, and after preliminary and final evaluations, 12 teams were selected as winners (1 team for Grand Prize in each category, 2 for Excellence Award, and 3 for Encouragement Award).


The winners will receive certificates and a total prize money of 13 million KRW.


The Grand Prize in the Idea Planning category was awarded to the KNUJeans team for their proposal, "Optimal Data Center Location Recommendation Solution," which suggests the optimal site selection for data centers by considering energy saving and environmental protection for efficient operation.


The Excellence Awards went to the Allrounder team for "Development of Next-Generation Prior Art Analysis Solution through Integrated Patent/Non-Patent Database Construction Technology," and the ByeolbitCare team for "Selection of Medically Vulnerable Areas and Proposal of Medi-Bus Routes to Resolve Medical Blind Spots."


This year, the Grand Prize in the Data Visualization category was awarded to Team Bibibig for their proposal, "Visualization of African Swine Fever (ASF) Outbreak Risk in Yeongcheon City."


The Excellence Awards went to the WigitalchulYeongcheon team for "Construction of Disaster Risk Map and Proposal of User Location-Based Optimal Evacuation Route App" covering four disasters: wildfires, landslides, earthquakes, and flooding; and to the BippoBippo team for "The Necessity of Yeongcheon Hospital," addressing the seriousness of issues related to the golden hour for emergency patients.


Mayor Choi Kimoon said, "I would like to thank everyone who has shown continuous interest and participated in the Yeongcheon City Public Data Utilization Competition, now in its third year," adding, "We will actively reflect the ideas and visualization proposals that address Yeongcheon City's administrative issues from the participants' perspectives, and expand them into data-based public services."
