Opened in 1870, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the world's four major art museums. It houses tens of thousands of works encompassing 5,000 years of art history worldwide and attracts over 7 million visitors annually.

'The Facade Commission' is a representative contemporary art exhibition series at The Metropolitan Museum of Art that has been ongoing since 2019. It has showcased works by world-renowned artists such as Wangechi Mutu, Carol Bove, Hew Locke, and Nairy Baghramian.

The first exhibition of 'The Genesis Facade Commission' will be held for about eight months from September 12 this year to May 27 next year. During this period, four new large-scale installation works by the globally acclaimed contemporary artist 'Lee Bul' will be exhibited. Since the late 1980s, Lee Bul has utilized various media including sculpture, painting, video, and performance to present works on diverse themes such as humanity's yearning for utopia, the dual aspects of technological advancement, and division.

Genesis expects that through collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, it will be able to introduce several artists with unique and creative artistic worlds, providing audiences with profound inspiration and experiences. Max Hollein, Director of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, said, "Through this partnership, not only museum visitors but also city residents will be able to enjoy new exhibitions and gain joy and inspiration every year."

Meanwhile, Genesis plans to continue various cultural and artistic sponsorship activities. In May next year, Genesis will sponsor the exhibition 'The Genesis Exhibition: Do Ho Suh' by artist Do Ho Suh at the Tate Modern in London, UK, continuing its differentiated art partnership.
