VoiceEye "1 in 4 Local Governments Provide Voice Service on Bills"

According to VoiceEye, a voice conversion code company, on the 23rd, out of about 200 local governments including 16 metropolitan cities and provinces, around 50 have applied voice conversion codes to their bills.

According to the Disability Discrimination Act enforced in 2021, national and local government bills are required to mandatorily include voice conversion codes.

VoiceEye is currently increasing the conversion rate by inserting voice conversion barcodes into bills from more than 50 local governments, including 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and Chungam.

In February, with the launch of the second phase of the next-generation local tax system, the voice conversion code tax items were completely revamped from the original five items including local taxes to 26 items, including tax items, arrears, due dates, and other information delivery categories.

The barcode inserted in the bill can be scanned and read using a smartphone app, and it is translated into 58 languages including Korean, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Thai, providing non-discriminatory tax information to visually impaired, low-vision individuals, and members of multicultural families.

VoiceEye's voice conversion code system records the billing details on the front side, and when the code on the inside is read, personal information is confirmed, thereby enhancing personal information protection. It also includes a device to prevent Qsing fraud risks using QR codes.

Jung Kwon-sung, CEO of VoiceEye, stated, "Currently, VoiceEye's voice barcode company is being embedded not only in local governments but also in government24 civil documents and Supreme Court rulings," and introduced, "VoiceEye is a voice barcode company with a market share of over 95%."
