Commendation for Model Citizen of Mapo-gu for Catching Sexual Harassment Offender and Contributing to the Development of Filial Piety Meals

Kim Hyojin, Lee Sunsun, Jeong Oksun, and Others Receive Commendation as Model Residents

Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Gang-su) held the '2024 2nd Quarter Model Resident Commendation Ceremony' on the morning of the 23rd in the Mapo-gu Office's medium conference room.

At this ceremony, which expresses gratitude by discovering residents who have dedicated themselves and served the local community, Kim Hyo-jin from Mangwon 1-dong, Lee Soon-sun and Jung Ok-soon from Mangwon 2-dong were selected as model residents and received commendation certificates.

Kim Hyo-jin was recognized for her efforts in organizing the 'Mangwon-gyeong Festival' while actively participating in the Residents' Autonomy Committee. Additionally, in May, she received applause from neighbors for catching a sexual harasser on the subway and handing him over to the police.

Lee Soon-sun, serving as the chairman of the Defense Council, is engaged in various volunteer activities for residents' safety and welfare by also participating in the Community Security Council and the Residents' Autonomy Committee.

Jung Ok-soon from the same neighborhood also contributes to the community as a member of the Volunteer Camp and the Community Security Council. In particular, Jung has been volunteering weekly from the early stages of the Hyo-do Bapsang program, Mapo-gu's representative senior welfare project, and continues to work hard for the healthy aging of the elderly.

At the ceremony, Park Gang-su, mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "I sincerely thank all the model residents who have consistently done their best in their roles and exerted a positive influence on the local community," adding, "I ask for your unwavering support and active participation for regional development as model residents representing Mapo in the future."
