Hanseo University Hosts Open Industry-Academia-Research Forum Summer Conference

Hanseo University successfully held the 'Open Industry-Academia-Research Forum 2024 Summer Conference.'

Hanseo University and Gyeongnam National University jointly hosted the 'Open Industry-Academia-Research Forum 2024 Summer Conference' on the 18th at Gyeongnam National University's Hanma Future Hall.

This conference was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation of Korea, Gyeongnam National University LINC 3.0 Project Group, Hanseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group, and the Open Industry-Academia-Research Forum. It was organized under the main theme of ‘Current Status and Diagnosis of Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Talent Development Education’ to create new educational methods and industry-academia-research cooperation models in response to the digital transformation era.

The event began with a keynote speech by Lee Jeong-jae, CEO of Hudatas, on ‘Utilizing Regional Innovative Talent through Industry-Academia Cooperation,’ followed by thematic presentations including ‘Current Status and Diagnosis of Industry-Academia-Research Linked Curricula’ by Professor Lee Im-geon of Dong-Eui University, ‘Current Status and Diagnosis of Industry-Academia-Research Linked Contract Departments’ by Professor Choi Jeong-hoon of Korea Polytechnic University, and ‘Current Status and Diagnosis of Work-Learning Parallel Education Curricula’ by Professor Kim Young-bong of Gyeongnam National University.

Subsequently, a comprehensive discussion on the direction of education based on industry-academia-research cooperation was held, chaired by Professor Jo Young-tae of National Changwon University, with panelists including Professor Lee Jeong-mi of Chungbuk National University, Professor Kim Sang-soo of Daejeon University, Professor Choi Won-hyeok of Masan University, and Professor Moon Sang-sik of Gyeongnam National University.

Kim Ki-tae, Director of the Employment and Startup Support Center, stated, "We will continuously strive to explore the direction of education based on industry-academia-research cooperation through the Open Industry-Academia-Research Forum to actively support education and talent development for nurturing industry-academia-research cooperation talent."
