Selection of high-impact projects for residents including six-day-a-week household waste collection and Jayang Station name revision
Encouraging proactive work by public officials through incentive-based 'Myeonchaek Protection Officer' system operation
Key tasks selected such as illegal street vendor regulation and alley small business support projects... focused management until year-end
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has selected the ‘2024 First Half Active Administration Best Practices’ to implement active administration that residents can feel through fostering a public service atmosphere where officials can work proactively.
Active administration refers to public officials actively handling tasks based on creativity and expertise for the public interest. Gwangjin-gu annually selects public officials and best practices who are practicing active administration to create a proactive organizational culture.
The selected best practices include ▲implementing a six-day-a-week household waste collection system ▲utilizing temporary parking spaces in idle lands in planned development areas ▲revising subway station names (Ttukseom Resort Station → Jayang Station), focusing on projects with high public impact that contributed to improving residents’ convenience through proactive task execution.
The district plans to provide incentives such as commendations and prize money to the respective public officials and introduce and operate the ‘Gwangjin-gu Active Administration Exemption Protection Officer’ system to protect officials’ rights during audits by higher authorities due to active administration.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “In a rapidly changing administrative environment, the proactive role of public officials is necessary to meet residents’ expectations,” adding, “Going forward, Gwangjin-gu will continue to activate active administration based on communication and do its best to resolve residents’ inconveniences.”
Meanwhile, Gwangjin-gu has selected key active administration tasks such as ▲illegal street vendor cleanup ▲support projects for small businesses in alley markets ▲operation of an integrated reporting system for parking violations of abandoned bicycles and Personal Mobility (PM) devices, and plans to focus on management and support to complete them by the end of this year.
