September 10... Bach Unaccompanied Sonatas and Partitas
Violinist Daniel Lozakovich, who performed alongside BLACKPINK at a charity concert held last January at Le Z?nith Arena in Paris, France, will hold a solo recital at Bucheon Art Center on September 10.
The charity concert last January was hosted by Brigitte Macron, the First Lady of France. BLACKPINK was invited to perform the final stage of the concert, during which Lozakovich collaborated with them. BLACKPINK sang "Shut Down," a song that samples the third movement "La Campanella" from Violin Concerto No. 2 composed by the legendary Italian violinist Niccol? Paganini (1782?1840), while Lozakovich performed "La Campanella" live.
Lozakovich also performed a congratulatory piece at a banquet when King Charles of the United Kingdom visited France as a state guest in September last year.
Lozakovich, who has gained attention through various types of performances, is the youngest exclusive artist signed to Deutsche Grammophon, the world's largest classical music label. He was 15 years old at the time of signing.
At the upcoming solo recital at Bucheon Art Center in September, he will present a program consisting solely of Bach's works. He will perform Bach's Sonata No. 1 for solo violin and Partitas No. 2 and No. 3 for solo violin.
Lozakovich's debut album was dedicated to Bach. Released in 2018, his debut album featured two violin concertos by Bach and Partita No. 2 for solo violin, performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Chamber Orchestra. The album reached number one on the overall French Amazon chart and topped the German classical album chart.
Lozakovich was born in 2001 in Stockholm, Sweden, and began playing the violin at the age of seven. Just two years later, he made his solo debut in Moscow with the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra led by Vladimir Spivakov, earning the title of "prodigy."
Lozakovich boasts a brilliant record of awards. He won the Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition in 2016 and was named "Young Artist of the Year" at Germany's Festival of Nations in 2017. He also received the "Best Performer" award in Mexico and an honorary award bestowed by Queen Sofia of Spain. Since 2012, Lozakovich has studied under Professor Josef Rissin at the Karlsruhe University of Music, earning his master's degree in 2021.
Lozakovich made his debut at the BBC Proms in August 2022. At that time, he performed Brahms' Violin Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Fabien Gabel at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK.
This season, he has been selected as the resident artist of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra and is actively fulfilling his performance schedule. He is set to make his debut at the Concertgebouw Grand Hall this season and at Carnegie Hall next season.
Lozakovich currently plays the 1713 Stradivarius "ex-Sancy," a violin made by Ivry Gitlis, which he borrows from the Mo?t Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) Foundation.
