Temporary Parking Lots to Be Built on Idle Land in Ulsan Innovation City to Ease Parking Shortage

Ulsan City to Offer Temporary Free Use of Public Office Sites

467 Spaces Near Former Public Institutions in Gyodong, Jung-gu

The currently unused land in Ulsan Innovation City has been opened as a temporary parking lot.

The Ulsan city government announced on the 23rd that it has completed the construction of a temporary parking lot on long-unused idle land within the Innovation City and will open it free of charge starting from the 24th.

The creation of the temporary parking lot was promoted since the end of last year to secure additional parking spaces in the Innovation City, alleviate the inconvenience caused to pedestrians and vehicles by illegal parking on side streets, and provide transportation convenience for relocated public institutions, businesses, and residents.

The parking lot was established on 20,300 square meters of city-owned land in the Gyodong area of Jung-gu, with a capacity of 467 vehicles, and will be operated temporarily until construction work such as government office buildings begins.

Considering that this is a temporary parking lot, only the minimum necessary construction was carried out, such as land leveling, installation of security lights and fences, and gravel paving, to make the land usable as a parking lot.

An Ulsan city official said, "By creating a temporary parking lot on idle land where no construction plans have been established, we expect to alleviate the parking shortage in Innovation City, improve living conditions, and contribute to the revitalization of the area."

The Jung-gu District Office will be responsible for parking guidance and facility management of the temporary parking lot.
