Choi Sang-mok Departs to Attend G20 and Korea-Latin America Trade Innovation Forum

Emphasis on the Need to Expand Cooperation in Supply Chains and Renewable Energy

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok will depart on the 23rd to attend the G20 Finance Ministers' Meeting and the Korea-Latin America Trade and Innovation Forum held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from the 25th to the 26th.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that Minister Choi plans to hold bilateral meetings with finance ministers of major countries and key figures such as the President of the World Bank (WB).

On the 25th, Minister Choi will attend the 2nd Korea-Latin America Trade and Innovation Forum, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the IDB, where he will emphasize the need to expand cooperation in areas such as supply chains and renewable energy between Korea and the Latin American region during his opening remarks.

He will then propose economic structural reforms and fiscal innovation measures to restore the dynamism of the global economy during the global economy session of the G20 Finance Ministers' Meeting. On the following day, the 26th, he will present the roles of governments, the private sector, and the international community in responding to climate change and sustainable finance during the sustainable finance session of the G20 Finance Ministers' Meeting.

In the international financial system session, as a co-chair country of the working-level meeting, he will emphasize the reform of multilateral development banks, resolution of debt vulnerabilities, and stable management of capital flows through a leading speech to strengthen the international financial system.
