Follow-up Meeting with the Japan Market Development Team
Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province, held a meeting with companies participating in the 'Icheon City Japan Market Development Team' on the 19th to discuss activity outcomes and support measures, the city of Icheon announced on the 22nd.
This meeting was held as a follow-up to the market development team activities conducted over five days and four nights from the 17th to the 21st of last month in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. The meeting was attended by 12 people, including Jeong Gwang-yong, head of the Balanced Opportunity Division at the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, and export companies that participated in the market development team.

At the meeting, Park Hyung-seok, CEO of Shinjin Chemtech, said, "I had faced several setbacks trying to enter the Japanese market alone," adding, "Through this market development team, we succeeded in exporting and created an opportunity to make a bigger leap." Park Dong-jun, CEO of Urban Solution Korea, also evaluated, "I now feel that our companies' technological capabilities have advanced enough to knock on the door of the Japanese market." Previously, through this market development team activity, the companies conducted 80 export consultations locally, achieving a contract promotion performance of 4.17 million USD (approximately 5.787 billion KRW).
Mayor Kim said, "I hope that the market development team will further activate the entry of Icheon companies into the Japanese market," and added, "We will continue to support local companies so that they can export not only to Japan but also to various parts of the world such as the United States and China."
Meanwhile, Icheon City dispatches market development teams to promising overseas markets for local small and medium-sized enterprises. Participating companies receive support such as discovering local buyers, arranging one-on-one consultations, interpreters, transportation, and airfare.
