The student volunteer group of Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan), led by Kim Hyunseung, a senior in the Department of Sports Rehabilitation, recently carried out a three-day, two-night rural volunteer activity in Seohomauel, Daeseo-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do.
From July 16 to 18, 44 student volunteers and 2 faculty members participated in activities such as removing rice field snails and weeding vinyl greenhouses and rice paddies, experiencing firsthand the value of agriculture and the importance of hard work.
Volunteer leader Kim Hyunseung shared, "Many students participated to help alleviate the labor shortage in rural areas during this particularly hot summer," and added, "It was a small but meaningful experience that helped us grow as healthy members of a community living together."
Tongmyong University continues to emphasize students' social responsibility and is making ongoing efforts for a sustainable environment.
