Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special Mayor, Attends the 12th Inauguration Ceremony of Kwon Jinhoe, President of Gyeongsang National University.
At the ceremony, President Kwon announced his vision, "Fly with GNU, Leader of National Flagship Universities Driving Innovation," and expressed his ambition for the university to become an "innovative, growing, and happy university" and to enter the Top 3 among flagship national universities.
Despite the recent decline in the school-age population and the digital transformation crisis facing regional universities, Gyeongsang National University has been fulfilling its role as a regional flagship national university by innovating its education, research, and learning programs, and was recently selected for the Ministry of Education's Glocal University 30 project.
Mayor Hong stated, "Let us overcome the shared, era-defining crisis facing both the region and the university together," and added, "Changwon City is equipped with an advanced manufacturing base to support Gyeongsang National University's specialized aerospace and defense industries. Through proactive industry-academia cooperation, let us establish a virtuous cycle structure for the employment and settlement of outstanding talent."
