BNK Financial Group and Financial Supervisory Service Provide ESG Talent Training for SMEs in the Southeastern Region

ESG Specialist Training for SMEs in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam

Global Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism

BNK Financial Group (Chairman Bin Daein) held the ‘Southeast Region SME ESG Talent Development Training’ together with the Financial Supervisory Service at the Busan City Hall International Conference Hall on the 19th.


More than 150 executives and employees from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region attended the event, which featured lectures on topics such as understanding and responding to global supply chain due diligence laws, and methods for calculating and managing greenhouse gas emissions for SMEs. Kim Jeongnam, Head of the ESG Center at HwaWoo Law Firm, and Lee Sanghoon, Professor at Ewha Womans University Department of Climate and Energy Systems Engineering, each led the training sessions.


Prior to the training, Park Hyungjun, Mayor of Busan, delivered a congratulatory video message, stating, “I hope the ESG Talent Development Training for Southeast Region SMEs will be a great help to SMEs that are struggling to obtain information related to ESG.”


Lee Jin, Director of the Financial Market Stability Bureau at the Financial Supervisory Service, also delivered a congratulatory address, saying, “We are pleased that the Financial Supervisory Service and BNK Financial Group are able to provide high-quality ESG education to Southeast Region SMEs through collaboration.”


Participants were issued certificates of completion for the training, and SMEs that wished to do so were given the opportunity to install promotional banners introducing their companies, providing a chance for networking among Southeast Region SMEs.


Kang Jonghoon, Executive Director of BNK Financial Group, stated, “On the 2nd, BNK Financial Group signed a business agreement with Busan City and Korea Technology Finance Corporation to fully support the financial costs of Busan-based carbon reduction technology companies. As this training is also part of BNK Financial Group’s initiative to build an ‘ESG ecosystem in the Southeast Region,’ we will continue to contribute to strengthening the ESG competitiveness of local companies through various activities in the future.”
