Central Yoon Gil Joong Eye Clinic, 3D Cataract Surgery Demonstration for Ophthalmology Residents

Central Yoon Gil Joong Eye Clinic (Chief Director Yoon Gil Joong) announced on the 22nd that it recently demonstrated 3D cataract surgery using the Vision Suite to ophthalmology residents from Chonnam National University and Chosun University.

All the ophthalmology residents who visited Central Yoon Gil Joong Eye Clinic for observation were in their 3rd or 4th year. After attending a lecture by Chief Director Yoon Gil Joong on phacoemulsification, they participated in hospital rounds and observed surgeries.

The surgery method was demonstrated using a model eye rather than an actual patient, followed by a hands-on practice session for the residents.

Introduced in April, the Vision Suite is an ecosystem that integrates clinical diagnostic devices, digital surgical equipment, and a high-level education system to support ophthalmic medical staff.

It connects the entire surgical process with faster and more efficient surgical flow and improved accuracy, enabling medical staff to provide better surgical outcomes for cataract and refractive patients.

3D cataract surgery using the Vision Suite offers higher safety by reducing corneal endothelial cell damage rates and the risk of posterior capsule rupture through a 3D monitor.

Additionally, the astigmatism measurement device Verion is linked, allowing correction of even small amounts of corneal astigmatism. The brightness of the light can be adjusted, reducing glare during surgery, enabling faster recovery after surgery, and minimizing damage to retinal cells.

The residents who observed the 3D cataract surgery showed great interest and enthusiasm while experiencing Vision Suite, the next-generation technology in the field of ophthalmology.”
