The driver in his 60s involved in the 'Sicheong Station reverse driving accident' reportedly maintained his claim of sudden unintended acceleration during the third suspect interrogation.


Driver in 'Sicheong Station Reverse Driving Accident' Claims 'Sudden Acceleration' Again in Third Investigation

On the 22nd, the Seoul Namdaemun Police Station announced that they conducted a third suspect interrogation for Mr. Cha (68) for about three hours at a nursing hospital in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, around 3 p.m. on the 19th. During the investigation, Mr. Cha is said to have continued asserting that the accident was caused by sudden unintended acceleration due to a vehicle defect.


A police official stated, "We are also considering the possibility of applying for an arrest warrant for Mr. Cha," adding, "We plan to take measures regarding his custody soon."
