Collaboration on the 'Glocal University 30' Project
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) and Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) signed a business agreement with Saha-gu and Seo-gu of Busan on the 19th to promote the "Glocal University 30 Project."
The signing ceremony, held in the main conference room at Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus, was attended by President Lee Haewoo of Dong-A University, Vice President Nam Hosu of Dongseo University, Saha-gu Mayor Lee Gapjun, Seo-gu Mayor Gong Hansu, and representatives from the four institutions.
Through this agreement, Dong-A University, Dongseo University, Saha-gu Office, and Seo-gu Office will cooperate for the selection and promotion of the "Glocal University 30 Project," collaborative research for urban cultural regeneration and resolving local issues, and sharing of human and material resources.
President Lee stated, "As Dong-A University and Dongseo University join forces to move toward the official designation of Glocal University 30, this agreement with Saha-gu and Seo-gu in Busan will be a great force for regional coexistence," and added, "We will strive for universities to play a significant role in balanced regional development for the future of the nation."
Saha-gu Mayor Lee said, "Various policies are being promoted at the national level to support local universities, and I will do my best to help Dong-A University and Dongseo University take a great leap forward through cooperation," adding, "It is said that the status of a region is measured by its universities. I hope both universities will lead the development of Western Busan and shine together with the local community."
Seo-gu Mayor Gong stated, "Through the cooperation of Dong-A University, Dongseo University, Saha-gu, and Seo-gu, I hope we can establish a collaborative system between local governments and universities and create opportunities for mutual growth and coexistence," and continued, "I will do my best, however small, to support the official designation of the Glocal University 30 for the joint university of Dong-A and Dongseo."
Vice President Nam of Dongseo University said, "I am pleased and delighted with the MOU between the representative local governments and universities of Western Busan," adding, "Among Busan's key industries, medical services and high-tech industries are strong in Seo-gu and Saha-gu, and these are also the focus areas for the Glocal University project by the joint university of Dong-A and Dongseo. I hope this becomes an opportunity for various collaborations for significant development."
