About 70 Days of Fuel Replacement and Preventive Inspection Conducted
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Seyong) announced, "Hanul Unit 5 (pressurized water reactor type, 1 million kW class) stopped power generation at 10 a.m. on July 19 and began its 14th scheduled preventive maintenance, which will last for about 70 days."
During the scheduled preventive maintenance period, Hanul Unit 5 will carry out tasks such as fuel removal and reloading, statutory inspections in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act and the Electric Utility Act, and inspections of power generation facilities. After completing various statutory inspections and regulatory conformity checks, it is expected to resume power generation in September upon receiving operational approval from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission.
