Gyeonggi-do Appoints Private Advisory Group for Contract Review System on the 20th

Gyeonggi-do Appoints Private Advisory Group for Contract Review System on the 20th Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province will appoint a 'Private Advisory Group' (Contract Review Cost Analysis Advisory Group) on the 20th to enhance the quality of the contract review system.

The contract review system, introduced in 2008, is designed to prevent unnecessary budget waste by reviewing the cost estimation, appropriateness of design and construction methods, and validity of design changes for various projects such as construction, services, and goods procurement commissioned by Gyeonggi Province, its cities and counties, and public institutions.

The Gyeonggi Province Contract Review Cost Analysis Advisory Group, established in 2016, is a private expert advisory group that ensures the objectivity and professionalism of contract reviews and prevents corruption such as favoritism and collusion related to safety accident prevention, application of new technologies, and patented construction methods.

This appointed advisory group consists of 85 experts across 16 fields in civil engineering, architecture, and facilities, who hold relevant certifications or degrees and have practical experience for a certain period.

Sung Hyun-sook, the Contract Review Officer of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Together with the 5th advisory group, who have field experience and professional knowledge, we will examine projects more thoroughly and prevent budget waste in unnecessary areas."
