Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, reached the maximum fundraising limit within one hour of opening his donation account on the 18th.
According to Lee Jae-myung's campaign team, the donation account was opened at 10 a.m. that day, and within one hour, they achieved the fundraising cap of 150 million KRW. The total number of donations was 4,700, with small donations under 100,000 KRW accounting for 99.8% of the total.
Through his SNS, Lee expressed gratitude, saying, "I know the heavy burden of every single penny, so it is even more precious," and added, "I will repay by making Korea run again."

Earlier, on the 2nd, Han Dong-hoon, former emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, reached the limit of 150 million KRW within 8 minutes of opening his donation account. At that time, Han's donation account opened at 9 a.m. and closed at 9:08 a.m.
Meanwhile, under the current Political Funds Act, candidates for party leader elections can receive donations up to 150 million KRW. The amount one person can donate to a politician is limited to 5 million KRW annually.
