County Governor Park Wooryang Personally Attends Award Ceremony for Families with Newborns and Pledges Policy Support

Overcoming Low Birthrate by Encouraging and Strengthening Support for Childbirth Families

County Governor Park Wuryang: "Parents Who Give Birth Should Be Honored as National Merit Recipients"

Park Woo-ryang, the mayor of Sinan County, visited a family with a newborn in Amtae-myeon on the 17th and personally presented a birth merit plaque.

According to the county on the 18th, this visit was made to express gratitude to families with newborns and to directly feel and encourage the difficulties of childcare in the face of the social disaster situation where the low birthrate problem leads to population extinction.

Sinan County acknowledges that it is facing a population extinction crisis due to aging and population decline while experiencing the low birthrate problem, and is encouraging and supporting families with newborns to overcome this.

The birth merit award expresses gratitude and honor for the continuous dedication and hard work of parents, and it was institutionalized as part of the award ordinance introduced by Sinan County in April, targeting parents residing in the region.

Mr. Kim, who received the merit plaque, said, “Giving birth and raising children require many sacrifices and efforts, but it is a great encouragement that the mayor personally visited and encouraged us,” and added, “I hope better policies will be made for children in the future.”

In response, Mayor Park Woo-ryang promised, “We recognize the low birthrate problem as a national crisis and believe that families with newborns should be treated as national meritorious persons,” and “We will continue to promote policies focused on supporting childbirth and childcare.”

Currently, Sinan County is implementing various childbirth policies and strengthening support for parents through programs such as Sunlight Pension, Sunlight Child Allowance, and childbirth incentives. These policies form an important foundation for the future of Sinan County and are expected to contribute to supporting the development of the local community.
