Park Ji-won: "Impeachment Talk Arises Over President Distrust and Dior Bag Controversy"

Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out in an interview with KBS Radio's 'Jeongyeok Sisa' on the 18th, "The impeachment talks are coming up because all citizens distrust the president and have suspicions about Corporal Chae and First Lady Kim Geon-hee's Dior bag issue."

Park continued, "Currently, about 1.4 million people have filed impeachment petitions against President Yoon Seok-yeol in the National Assembly," and added, "If more than 50,000 people sign, it automatically goes to the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee for review, which is why a hearing is held."

He criticized, "(President Yoon) exercised veto power against the special investigation on Corporal Chae, the special investigation on First Lady Kim Geon-hee, and reform legislation," and said, "Even though he promised to give 200,000 won for rice prices, and all the agricultural cooperatives nationwide sold rice at 61,000 won per sack based on that promise, it was not kept."

Regarding the suspicion of external pressure on the investigation into the death of Marine Corps Corporal Chae, and the presidential office's internal phone number (02-800-7070) that called former Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-seop, he noted, "Democratic Party lawmaker Park Gyun-taek inquired and found out that the phone belongs to the Presidential Security Service. This is important," and added, "Although it was revealed that the phone belongs to the Security Service, where it is located and who used it have not yet been disclosed."

He continued, "When JTBC reported on that phone, it was removed one day and restored the next," and added, "I think it is good for such matters to be revealed to remove the public's suspicions."

Regarding the People Power Party's leadership election, he said, "Looking at it now, it has become a chaotic mess," and added, "I believe that if candidate Han Dong-hoon becomes the party leader, he will take a strong confrontational stance against President Yoon."

He further predicted, "In the end, President Yoon has files on candidate Han, and candidate Han also has files on President Yoon, so there will be a clash," and said, "Since President Yoon still has three years left in his term, they will coexist for a certain period like a crocodile and a crocodile bird, but eventually, it will explode."
