"If You Don't Have These Pants, You're Not MZ"... Musinsa Slacks, the 'Work Battle Uniform,' Surpass 5.5 Million Units Sold

Surpassing 5.5 Million Units Sold in Over 6 Years Since 2018 Launch
Can Circle Seoul and Busan 6 Times When Connected
8 Out of 10 Customers Are in Their 20s and 30s

Musinsa's private brand (PB), Musinsa Standard, announced on the 18th that the slacks first launched in 2018 have surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 5.5 million units as of the first half of this year, marking over six years since their release.

After exceeding 3 million units sold by the end of 2021, the slacks reached 3.5 million units in June 2022, 4.5 million units in May 2023, and 5.5 million units in May 2024. It is analyzed that more than 1 million pairs of slacks have been sold annually over the past two years.

Considering that the average total length of one pair of Musinsa Standard slacks is 100 cm, if all the slacks sold so far were laid end to end in a straight line, the length would be approximately 5,500 km. This distance is enough to travel back and forth between Seoul and Busan six times with some distance remaining.

Musinsa Standard slacks feature a hidden band with a high-elasticity elastane band and silicone printing that prevents the hem of the top from slipping out, enhancing practicality. Additionally, they use a highly stretchable two-way stretch T/R fabric, which increases mobility.

Currently, there are 136 styles of slacks sold under Musinsa Standard, including the 'Wide Hidden Band Slacks' and 'Tapered Hidden Band Slacks.' When first launched in 2018, there were only two types of Musinsa Standard slacks, but the variety of designs, fits, and colors has been continuously expanded in line with market trends and customer demand.

Analyzing customers who purchased slacks from Musinsa Standard over the past year by age group shows that those in their 20s and 30s account for 80.4%. In particular, the 25?34 age group makes up about 52.4%, more than half. This is the result of being praised as the so-called ‘office battle uniform’ among office workers in their 20s and 30s, thanks to its trendy silhouette and comfortable fit.

A representative from Musinsa Standard said, “This achievement is even more noteworthy considering that there are very few domestic fashion brands that sell more than 1 million units annually with a single slack product,” and added, “We will continue to actively reflect customers’ voices and consistently introduce attractive and trendy products in the pants category, including slacks.”
