Legal Consultation, Lease Contract Education, Jeonse Deposit Return Guarantee Fee Support

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 17th that it will form a dedicated team for victims of jeonse fraud and begin full-scale operations.
The district has established a "Real Estate Policy T/F" under the Real Estate Information Division to prevent jeonse fraud and provide more systematic support for victims of jeonse fraud.
The "Real Estate Policy T/F" consists of three employees from the Real Estate Information Division, and legal consultations are conducted by the district's advisory lawyer in connection with the Dongdaemun-gu Free Legal Counseling Center.
The main roles of the dedicated team include ▲investigating the actual damage ▲legal consultation ▲preventive education for safe lease contract signing ▲support for jeonse deposit return guarantee (insurance) premium payments.
In particular, the "premium support" project aims to strengthen housing stability by preventing damage caused by non-return of jeonse deposits in advance. It supports all or part of the prepaid premium for the jeonse deposit return guarantee (HUG, HF, SGI) that is valid as of the application date for houses with a jeonse deposit of 300 million won or less (up to 300,000 won).
Additionally, the "Real Estate Policy T/F" plans to prepare various support measures to reduce the economic burden on residents who have been recognized as victims of jeonse fraud by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, "We will do our best to help residents who have suffered from jeonse fraud regain stability as soon as possible and return to their daily lives."
Residents who have been victims of jeonse fraud can visit the Dongdaemun-gu Real Estate Information Division or apply through the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Management System to receive support after being recognized as victims.
