The integrated response system is a project to establish a comprehensive response framework by quickly collecting and analyzing big data on phishing crimes, with a budget of 12.7 billion KRW allocated over four years. The National Police Agency has set up the government-wide joint 'Telecommunication Financial Fraud Integrated Reporting and Response Center,' which handled approximately 180,000 phishing reports and consultations from July last year to June this year.

The main features planned for development this year include 'Easy Phishing Reporting,' 'Emergency Blocking Service (Circuit Breaker),' and 'Integrated Reporting Website.' Easy Phishing Reporting allows users to report phishing attempts via phone calls or text messages with a single button on their smartphone screen. The Circuit Breaker is a service that quickly blocks phone numbers obtained through Easy Phishing Reporting. Previously, blocking a number took 24 to 72 hours, but the goal is to reduce this to within 10 minutes. The Integrated Reporting Website is a project to revamp the current Financial Supervisory Service’s Voice Phishing Guardian website to make it more convenient for the public to use. The center is planning annual upgrades, including introducing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the efficiency of the integrated response system.

An official from the National Police Agency stated, “Once the integrated response system is completed, it is expected to play a significant role in greatly reducing damage through real-time responses to phishing crime attempts and establishing effective phishing response policies through big data analysis and sharing.”
