"Don't Miss Trump Next Time"... 'School of Rock' Jack Black Furious at Colleague's Slip-up

Tenacious D Ends Tour Early Due to Kyle's Controversial Remarks
When Asked About Wishes, "Don't Miss Trump"

Comedy rock duo Tenacious D is ending their tour early. This is because band member Kyle Gass made an inappropriate remark regarding an assassination attempt on former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

On the 16th (local time), Jack Black, a member of the acoustic metal band Tenacious D, announced on his social media that they would be ending the tour early. He said, "After much reflection, I have come to believe that it is no longer appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour," and bowed to fans, stating, "All band activities will be put on hold."

The reason for Jack Black's apology is presumed to be because on the 14th, during a tour performance, Gass responded to Black's prompt "Make a wish" by saying something along the lines of "Next time, don't miss Trump." Trump was injured in a shooting incident on the 13th, and Gass referred to this incident by advising the shooter not to miss.

Gass's remarks sparked strong backlash on social media and online communities. Netizens criticized him with comments such as "Is it okay to make such remarks when someone almost died?", "Irresponsible statement," "How can wishing for someone to be killed be considered a wish?", "A horrible wish," and "Gass should reflect on his words."

In response, Black said, "I was shocked by Gass's remarks during the performance on the 14th," and explained the reason for ending the tour early, stating, "I will not tolerate any form of hate speech or encourage political violence in any way."

As the controversy grew, Gass also posted an apology on his social media. He said, "The impromptu comment I made during the Sydney show was very inappropriate, dangerous, and a terrible mistake," and expressed remorse, saying, "I believe that no one should tolerate any kind or form of violence. The incident (where President Trump was injured) was a tragedy, and I am truly sorry for causing harm due to my serious lack of judgment."

Meanwhile, Tenacious D's tour, which recently heated up the U.S. and Europe and was heading to Newcastle, was scheduled to visit major cities in Australia and New Zealand this month and conclude in October. Refund information regarding the remaining tour dates has not yet been provided.
