Sacheon City Council Holds Press Briefing to Promote Open and Communicative Governance

"We will strive to become a council that is closer to the citizens by listening to local public opinion."

The Sacheon City Council in Gyeongnam held a meeting with local reporters at a restaurant in Daebang-dong on the 16th.

This meeting was organized to promote the legislative activities of the 9th Sacheon City Council, to publicly express the council’s commitment and direction for future activities, and to increase citizen participation in the council as a representative body.

Composed mostly of first-term council members, the 9th Sacheon City Council is bringing changes to the administration by actively fulfilling its role as a check on the executive branch.

In particular, by uniting across party lines and raising their voices for the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency?one of the region’s most pressing issues?the council contributed to the successful opening of the agency last May, receiving strong support from citizens.

Kim Kyuhun, the council chair, stated, “We will continue to hold regular press meetings to promote our legislative activities and, by communicating with reporters who are well-informed about citizens’ sentiments, we will actively listen to public opinion and strive to make the council more accessible to the people.”
