Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) has teamed up with Ma Okcheon, a master craftsman of Korea (representative of Babyer Co., Ltd. in the bakery and confectionery field), and Ahn Yoosung (representative of Gamae Ilsik in the culinary field) to support the success of young entrepreneurs.
Seo-gu announced on the 17th that it has finally selected five participants for the ‘Master Success School,’ where masters directly pass on their know-how to young people.

In the culinary field, CEO Kim Minjae (Osotdosot, Youth Care Restaurant) and CEO Shin Jaewon (Suntan Meat, Chipyeong-dong) were selected, while in the bakery and confectionery field, CEO Kim Taehee (Gallery Cafe Briti, Nongsung 2-dong), CEO Park Jeong-i (Mureu, Hwajeong 3-dong), and CEO Jo Woori (Outer Bakehouse, Hwajeong 3-dong) were selected.
Earlier, Seo-gu recruited participants for the ‘Master Success School’ targeting young food service entrepreneurs who have been in business for less than seven years. The masters conducted the first round of selection based on recipe plans, determination for success, and entrepreneurial history, selecting six candidates.
In the second round of on-site evaluation, masters Ma Okcheon and Ahn Yoosung, along with experts, visited the selected candidates’ businesses to assess the degree of recipe implementation, product viability of the recipes, and appropriateness of cooking.
Seo-gu plans to provide consulting to the participants of the Master Success School until October and establish a support system for young entrepreneurs by linking with events such as the ‘Gwangju Representative Food Cooking Contest’ and ‘Seo-gu Alleyway Restaurants’ participation.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “As Seo-gu, the only district in Honam with two Korean master craftsmen, is undertaking this project for young entrepreneurs for the first time, we will do our best to provide practical help. We will create a ‘Good Seo-gu’ that shares the masters’ valuable know-how and works together with young entrepreneurs for regional development.”
