At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul on the 17th, Acting Leader Park said, "While the administration is mesmerized by protecting President Yoon Seok-yeol and First Lady Kim Geon-hee, the livelihood situation is worsening," adding, "This year as well, the difficulties faced by self-employed business owners are intensifying, but the administration is just watching from afar." He continued, "Among the measures for small business owners and the self-employed announced in the government's economic policy direction for the second half of the year, the direct support amount is barely around 1 trillion won," emphasizing, "Continuing to release such sloppy measures that are like urinating on frozen ground only means telling the self-employed to fend for themselves whether they live or die."

He pointed out that a supplementary budget should be considered to provide direct support to the self-employed. Acting Leader Park stated, "We need to revise the existing support measures for the self-employed and small business owners through a two-track approach, including expanding direct support and establishing measures to stimulate domestic demand," and added, "All options, including the supplementary budget, must be placed on the table and reviewed." He further said, "In extraordinary times, it is appropriate to prepare extraordinary countermeasures," urging, "Do not wait until the self-employed go bankrupt one after another and the livelihood economy completely collapses; act boldly immediately."

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party also urged President Yoon to withdraw the nomination of Lee Jin-sook for the Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission. Acting Leader Park said, "Personnel appointments are everything, but the Yoon administration only makes disastrous appointments," adding, "Every nominee is equipped with extreme right-wing views, moral controversies, abusive language, and shamelessness as a baseline." He also stated, "Candidate Lee is like a comprehensive and final failure of the Yoon administration's personnel appointments," emphasizing, "The heavy responsibility of Chairperson of the Communications Commission does not suit a candidate who only brings controversy. The nomination should be withdrawn immediately without even going through the confirmation hearing."
