Daegu Cyber University held a "Graduate Employment Special Lecture & AI Expert Lecture" on the 13th at Jeju Hondi Nurimteo in Jeju Island to motivate students on vacation and enhance their understanding of career paths.
This event provided self-development opportunities for about 100 students from Jeju Island who registered in advance, and aimed to promote communication and exchange between professors and local alumni through expert lectures.
The special lecture began with an employment lecture by alumna Choi Seorin (Department of Speech-Language Pathology graduate) on the theme 'Hearing from a Graduate.' The 'AI as a Companion for Self-Growth' lecture was given by Professor Park Junghwan from the Department of Education at Jeju National University.
In particular, the AI expert lecture attracted students' attention with content on utilizing AI techniques in university assignments and methods for instructors to guide students using AI.
Previously, the university held its first regional meeting in Wonju to strengthen student networking, which is a limitation of online universities, and to foster professional competencies that provide practical help for employment. The university is currently holding a series of regional meetings for this purpose.
The next meeting is scheduled to be held in Changwon in October.
Choi Seorin, who received a great response by sharing learning know-how as a senior, said, "There are many Daegu Cyber University students in Jeju, and it was a happy time to meet face-to-face and talk through this opportunity. Although I may be lacking, I hope that sharing my experiences will help and support your future growth," concluding the special lecture.
Lee Geunyong, president of Daegu Cyber University, said, "Although it was difficult to hold the event amid continuous heavy rain, I am pleased that it proceeded smoothly thanks to the enthusiastic support of Jeju students. I hope this helps relieve the challenges of studying online alone and allows you to share the joys of university life."
