On the 16th, the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul announced that they are tracking down the author who posted a warning of a homemade gun terror attack on the far-right online community site 'Ilgan Best Storage (Ilbe)'. The post has not been deleted as of now.
Earlier, on the 23rd of last month, a post titled "Declaration of War Against the Disabled Activity Assistance Fraud Crackdown Team" was uploaded on the site. The unidentified author, Mr. A, said, "I am considering carrying out a terror attack with homemade bombs and homemade guns," adding, "In the next 2 to 3 days, I will engage in a confrontation with the fraud crackdown team."
Mr. A also attached map photos of welfare facilities for the disabled in Gwangjin-gu and Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, as well as a building in Yeongdeungpo-gu, along with photos of homemade guns seized in the past. He wrote aggressive expressions such as "5·18 rioters" and "corrupt group" on the photos. Mr. A warned, "The fraud crackdown team members often wear plain clothes like civilians or disguise themselves as delivery workers or merchants, making it difficult to distinguish them in urgent situations," and "The fraud crackdown team is framing me for murder. My goal is to kill as many of them as possible before I go."
The police plan to identify the author based on the IP address.
