Spitting Out Alcohol After Refusing a Drink Offer
An executive public official in Tongyeong-si, Gyeongnam, was suspended from his position after spitting alcohol from his mouth at an employee for not drinking at a company dinner.
On the 15th, Yonhap News reported, "Tongyeong-si has suspended the local neighborhood chief, Mr. A, for violating the duty to maintain dignity."
It is reported that Mr. A spat alcohol toward female employee Ms. B during a company dinner with employees on the 5th. At the time, Ms. B refused Mr. A's offer of alcohol, saying she could not drink, which led to this behavior. Subsequently, Ms. B reported Mr. A to the city on the 8th. However, Mr. A reportedly stated that he could not remember the incident due to intoxication.
The city plans to request disciplinary action against Mr. A from Gyeongnam Province.
