Illegal Street Vendors Removed from Kkotji Coastal Park in Anmyeondo, Chungnam Province

All illegal street vendors in the parking lot of Kkotji Coastal Park in Anmyeondo, Chungnam, have been removed.

According to Chungnam Province on the 16th, since the parking lot was established in Kkotji Coastal Park in 2002, street vendors have been conducting illegal business, causing complaints due to hygiene and environmental issues as well as obstruction of parking lot use.

To resolve this, the province established a comprehensive plan to regulate street vendors and revised the ordinance on the management of the Kkotji Coastal Park parking lot and collection of parking fees.

Accordingly, a daily parking fee and surcharge of 100,000 won will be imposed for each parking space occupied by illegal street vendors in the parking lot.

If the parking lot is occupied without permission, it will be registered and managed as public property for public use, and offenders may face up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won.

The province plans to maintain constant management to prevent the recurrence of street vendors in the Kkotji Coastal Park parking lot.

Lee Jonggyu, Director of the Balanced Development Bureau of the province, said, "We will thoroughly manage Anmyeondo Kkotji, a representative tourist destination of the province, to keep it pleasant and beautiful without street vendors."
