A woman in her 20s and her accomplices, who wore boxes instead of clothes and asked passersby to put their hands inside to touch her breasts, have been prosecuted for public indecency.
On the 15th, the Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Ji-hye) announced that they had indicted Lee and two others without detention on charges of public indecency.
They are accused of allowing passersby to touch Lee's breasts inside the box in areas such as Apgujeong and Hongdae in Seoul last October. The scenes were also released on YouTube and other platforms.
Lee claimed it was a performance art and an act to break outdated sexual culture, but the prosecution, after a resolution by the Prosecutor's Citizen Committee, judged that the charges of public indecency were valid.
The prosecution stated, "We will do our utmost to maintain the prosecution to ensure that punishment corresponding to the crime is carried out."
