On the 14th (local time), Time revealed the August 5th cover featuring Trump’s photo through its official Instagram. The cover included the photo along with the title "Attack on Trump." The photo captured Trump, who narrowly escaped a shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania around 6:15 p.m. on the 13th, bleeding from his right ear and cheek while raising his right fist. Although the rally turned chaotic due to the shooting, Trump emerged from the podium, shook his fist toward the sky, and shouted "Fight." The striking combination of Trump raising his fist toward his supporters despite nearly losing his life and the American flag fluttering behind him sparked widespread attention, being called the "Photo of the Year."

The photo was taken by Evan Vucci, an AP news photographer who has previously won a Pulitzer Prize. Responsible for political photography including coverage of the White House, he told CNN in an interview, "I knew I had to do this. It was a significant moment in American history and had to be documented," emphasizing, "You cannot do this job if you are not calm."

Meanwhile, Trump arrived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the same day to attend the Republican National Convention scheduled from the 15th to the 18th. He will be officially nominated as the Republican candidate at this convention. In a post on "Truth Social" that day, Trump stated, "The shooter or assassination suspect will not change the plan," affirming that he will proceed with the convention schedule as planned.
