Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Conducts Large-scale Cleanup in Hapjeong-dong with Students from Seongsan Elementary School Environmental Club

On the morning of the 15th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, personally took a broom and a hoe to carry out street cleaning activities around Hapjeong-dong in celebration of 'Hapjeong-dong Big Cleaning Day.'

Notably, this activity was made more meaningful by the participation of not only members of professional organizations but also about 10 students from the Environmental Club of Seoul Seongsan Elementary School, along with Principal Lee Jong-hwan, parents, and accompanying teachers.

On that day, Mayor Park Gang-su, the students, and other cleaning participants inspected major roads, side streets, and areas vulnerable to illegal dumping, picking up trash and removing accumulated dust.

They also worked together to remove weeds growing between the roads.

After finishing the cleaning, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “I am very pleased and honored that even the students took precious time from early morning to join the big cleaning,” adding, “Mapo District will strive to maintain a pleasant local environment through regular cleaning and management.”
