Temporary General Meeting and Board Meeting on the 15th

Kim Hyung-geun has been appointed as the new CEO of SK Ecoplant.
On the 15th, SK Ecoplant held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at its headquarters in Susong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and finalized the appointment of Kim as an inside director. Immediately after the extraordinary general meeting, the board of directors convened and appointed Kim as the CEO.
Kim joined Yukong, the predecessor of SK Innovation, in 1997. He served as the head of the Finance Division 1 at SK Corporation in 2016 and was appointed CEO of SK Airgas in 2020. He then held positions such as head of the Portfolio Management Division at SK Corporation in 2021 and head of the Finance Division at SK E&S in 2023. On May 23 of this year, he was nominated as president of SK Ecoplant.
SK Ecoplant stated, “Kim is recognized as a CEO with comprehensive expertise in strategy, portfolio management, and finance within the SK Group,” and added, “He is regarded as the right person to lead SK Ecoplant’s stable leap forward, having successfully transformed the business model to focus on environment and energy.”
In a message to SK Ecoplant employees on the day of his appointment, Kim emphasized his commitment to building infrastructure aligned with SK Group’s focus on responding to the artificial intelligence (AI) era and driving investments in the environmental sector, as well as achieving results in semiconductor-related businesses.
He said, “I will do my best with the goal of sustainable growth and the happiness of our members,” and added, “For sustainable growth, we must set clear goals and understand our capabilities and the position of our business. Only by continuously improving work efficiency and innovating our business model can we enhance profitability and value.”
