Changwon Special City Requests Police Investigation into Suspicions of Soil Disposal at Jinhae Knowledge Industry Center

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 15th that it has requested an investigation from the Jinhae Police Station to resolve suspicions regarding the disposal of excavated soil related to the construction of the Jinhae Public Rental Knowledge Industry Center.

Previously, on June 21, city council member Jin Hyungik raised suspicions during the 134th session of the Changwon City Council, claiming that the excavated soil from the Jinhae Knowledge Industry Center construction was not transported to the designated disposal site.

In response, the city conducted on-site inspections of the designated disposal site at the time, interviewed related personnel, and reviewed documents, and has requested an investigation to accurately verify the facts regarding the disposal of the excavated soil. If any illegalities are confirmed as a result of the investigation, the city plans to take legal action in accordance with relevant laws.

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, "We hope the truth about the disposal of excavated soil from the Jinhae Knowledge Industry Center will be revealed. We will inspect the situation regarding soil disposal at public facility construction sites and establish a management system for soil and rock in public facility projects by utilizing the Soil and Rock Information Sharing System from the design stage."
